RAC Insurance announced this week that our Holden Captiva has been written off as repairs will cost more than the market value of the vehicle. The comment from the Assessor was “You will need to look for a replacement” so we did.
We searched the internet for hatchbacks or SUV a little smaller than the Captiva, reviewed all the ones we liked within the price / mileage / Age Ranges and came up with a Nissan X-Trial.
Spoke to Paul at Five Star Service Centre, about a dealer, and he recommended Chris Johnson, Wangara Motors who is known to both of us for 20+ years as we all worked together at Lada Cars.
Went along, without stating exactly what we were looking for and searched through about 100 + cars ranging in Price from $50K to $3K, from Jaguars, BMW, Subaroo, etc… all magnificent ideas but did not fit the criteria.
Several NIssan X-Trails were found and one I went for a drive in one of them. I think the best of the bunch. Came back next day with Anne and bought it after a significant drive and check out with Paul.
We have been provided with another vehicle that suits our needs.
