Hilltop Beatrix Potter Home

Lake Districts are full of evidence of the legacy of Beatrix Potter who was, in today’s terms a very keen environmentalist. The farm where she lived and died was purchased by her and more than 8000 acres of surrounding land and cottages and all has been bequeathed to the National Trust. All the farmland has to be managed with methodology of the Beatrix Potter era. (Like it or lump it).

The home is full of Paintings made by her brother, the room she used as a work place is surrounded by them and very attractive too.

Lovely place to visit and would be even better on a nice sunny day
