Day out in Kendal

Visit to Kendal was the day that Will set off on his journey to South Africa for his Grandmother’s 90th birthday. We saw him onto the train at Oxenholme then into the city.

It was quite a wet day; but our spirits were not dampened by that. Kendal is the traditional home of Snuff and most of the world supply comes from here.

The shops were a place to be but only really bought some lunch.

However, the Kendal Castle ruins overlooking the town were really quite alluring. We spent some time up there walking around in the rain and soggy grass; but found the whole place quite an intrigue and place of amazing mischief.

Drove back to our lodgings at Ambleside.
