Rail Journey to Lakes

Woke up at 3.00am / 5.00am and went walking around Bloomsbury saw Gt Ormond Children’s hospital, coram’s field referred to in dicken’s Little Dorris.

arrived at Euston at 9.15 am missed the train by 30 seconds and managed to negotiate replacement tickets for the next  to Oxenholme in the Lake District. This was an answer to prayer and an amazing evidence of God’s provisions for those who seek him out. We did.

We entertained our selves by alternate commentaries about the towns we were travelling through. Will had made a loaf of bread that sustained us most of the four hours along wit Timtams.

changed to a slow local train at Oxenholme Kendal for Windermere then an open top bus to Ambleside and 10 minutes through the town and a steep hill to our lodging.

Nice home with all the needed facilities including central heating and a decent bath tub.

Searched the town for late lunch a little shopping and home for a good night sleep.

After dinner we walked to lake Windermere and saw the sunset over the water. It was cold and damp; but a lovely place to be.

A good day enjoyed by all.
