Last Day at Flame Close Mirrabooka

Monday 1st August 2016

Anne and I had spent all week packing boxes, assembling rubbish, collecting clothes and furniture to be given away to whomsoever, disposing of the Work Farm contents and container.

Four trailer loads of stuff had gone to the tip, and another four loads to the Salvos to assist in a good cause with useful stuff. Some furniture went to a good home including the dining table and chairs that Ken had purchased 50 years ago in Margate.

The truck had left on Saturday with all the furniture and boxes of books, china, bedding, etc… and gone to the Big Orange storage unit; and all that was left, a shell of a house that needed cleaning.

We looked at each other and felt overcome with tears, of joy and sadness, inter-mingled. What have we done! Where next?

Our tears were soon cleared as the welcome knock on the door of the cleaners arrived to do the final clean.

We wen to see the neighbours, Julie, Mike and Cathy, and shed a few tears with them as well as we said our good byes (farewells), and went on our way with a sense of achievement and the next step of this great adventure.

Blessing and Peace to you all
