Chester, in Cheshire, was our first stop after the Lake District. The day we arrived city was crowded as a half marathon was in progress, to link with the May Day holidays.
My last visit to Chester was in 1975 when here for a 14 day training course on Systems Analysis and Design. On that occasion, I spent the week end with Bob and Olive Newson, previous to that was in 1962 when staying in Manchester with Uncle William and Auntie Vera. William was the sales representative for a seed merchant covering North Wales, Cheshire and Shropshire. He proudly showed me a prominent hill in North Wales that was sown with one of his best quality grasses, and was able to tell all his customers to buy there grass seed from him after the example.
One of the main features of the town is the shops that are shown in the gallery. There are levels below and above the street, I think the only example in the world of this type of construction.
On tho Shrewsbury passing briefly through North Wales en route.
